[ RETOUR / BACK ]
(= Museum of Modern Art).
A l'intérieur
c'est plutot pas mal. On y trouve un collection permanente (Picasso,
Andy Warhole, Roy Licenstein, Pollock, Paul Cézanne, Henri
on aime l'art moderne.
y a beaucoup d'oeuvres françaises).
Park et els gratte-ciel New Yorkais. Si vous comptez tout voir,
prévoyez une journée entière et des bonnes
basket.
très connus (Guggenheim, Neue Gallerie, Museum of NY, Student
Museum, The Jewish Museum...) et qui longe Central Park.
This week-end was a cultural one. First, on Friday afternoon,
visit of the MoMA (= Museum of Modern Art). Originally located in
Manhattan, it was relocated in Queens during the rebuilding, and
it'll reopen in Manhattan next november. It's a small and externally
ugly museum. Inside, it's quite nice, we find there a regular collection
(Picasso, Andy Warhole, Roy Licenstein, Pollock, Paul Cézanne,
Henri Matisse,...) and a temporary collection, Fashion Fiction (Fashion
starts to be my word). The part "Humble item" which tell
you the story of the creation of some daily items (Chupa Chups,
Tobleron, ear-sticks,...) is interesting. This museum is made for
people who like modern art.
Then, on Saturday, visit of the MET (METropolitan Museum of Art),
one of the biggest and prettiest museum of the world, with the Louvres
in Paris, the British Museum, and the Ermitage in St Petersburg.
A French guy leads it (that's maybe why there are so many French
collections). There is a huge diversity of masterpiece, from the
african art to the japonese one, from the ancient Egypt to the modern
Europe, from the sculptures to the photographs, you'll find every
thing you're searching for. In add, there are a lot of nice places
inside: Egyptian Space, American Wing, The roof where you can have
a glance at Central Park and the skyscrapers. If you wanna see every
thing, schedule it in one whole day, and take sport shoes.
The MET is located on the Museum Mile, which is a mile besides Central
Park, on the 5th Avenue between the 100th st and the 72nd st where
a dozen of famous museums take place (Guggenheim, Neue Gallerie,
Museum of NY, Student Museum, The Jewish Museum,...).
